And now, the 2015 year is ending..

Well its been about 3 months since I have posted and it’s just been utterly crazy!  Work has been busier than every which is good because it keeps me busy and we have been traveling a lot to see family and now that the holiday season is over, I feel like I can breath again, LOL

I summed up a lot of my emotions about this roller coaster in my last post, including a ton of NSV’s, how I feel and where I am at.  3 months later, I still feel unbelievably blessed that I am here where I am and so thankful I had an opportunity to hit the “reset” button and have this surgery.  It truly has changed my life!  It’s not necessarily the weight loss that has rebuilt my confidence, it’s more so the notion that you can conquer a dream, no matter how far away or impossible it seems.  The idea that you can have a big dream that seems overwhelming to reach, and reaching it bring you new heights in the possibilities of your life.  My confidence is now derived from the belief that anything is attainable if you want it bad enough and are willing to work for it.  Some dreams are easier than others, and some can take years to attain, but when you get there, you feel like you climbed Mt. Everest with still enough room in your lungs to appreciate the cleanest air you can breath in.  This pretty much sums up my 2015!

It doesn’t end here.  I am at a weight where I am comfortable in my own skin and in a healthy state, but I would love to keep pushing.   2016 is the year of the toning and physical adventures so that come summer, I can fit in my first bathing suit and not want to cover up in shorts and a shirt.  With the holidays comes an influx of unhealthy foods, desserts and yummy goodness.  I was able to indulge without making myself sick, however the food choices have messed up with my system for the last week and I am actually excited to go home and cook a healthy dinner or grilled chicken and veggies.  I never thought I would like a life where I was EXCITED to eat clean and healthy.  I remember during my liquid only phase and wishing I could just eat that Nacho Cheese Pretzel Pizza at Little Ceasers, tearing at the thought that I couldn’t have the kinds of foods that gave me comfort (and always sick, but we ate it anyway because it was soooo good, LOL)  Now, in a place where your body can eat any and all foods, I have found that one or two bites satisfies me.  My mom always told me, “The first bite will always taste the same as the last bite.”  I always felt “Well, DUH, hence why I want to eat it til the end!”  Now, I can eat those couple bites, enjoy it and move on.

I am almost sad to see 2015 go because it has brought me so much happiness and life.  I always dreaded the new year because it was a reminder that I haven’t accomplished what I set out in the beginning of the year and my new years resolutions were always just carried over to the next year.  This is the first time in my life where I am so damn excited for the new year because I knocked so many things of my list that I am ready to list a bunch of new adventures to embark upon!

So here is my last before and after of 2015!

I was going to list all of my 2015 NSV’s but I don’t want to be repetitive.  Just means you have to go back and read some of the other blog posts during the year 😉

However, my favorite NSV since my LAST post is this below.  Erick and I were at Kohls finishing some xmas shopping when we walked by this dress.  He stopped dead and said that I had to buy that right now and wear it for Xmas Eve.  I told him I was crazy, that I haven’t worn a dress in over 10 years!  He made me buy it.  He just grabbed it off the rack and we continued shopping.  When we got home, I was upset, because I bought something without trying it on and I have never done that.  I didn’t want to have to take it back when it didn’t fit and deal with the holiday rush more than I had to.  He convinced me to go and try it on and I did….

Never in my LIFE have I EVER bought something off the rack to take home and keep.  I spent years in dressing rooms, crying because nothing looked good and I hated how it felt.  This was the most amazing feeling in the world!

There has been a little spark of a passion for clothes shopping.  I never thought that would ever be me.  I am looking forward to finally cleaning my closet of everything that doesn’t fit and replacing it with a new style!  This passion is almost as big as my new love for cooking!  Who would have ever thought?!?!

Speaking of which, it’s that time for the Foodie fans!  It’s been 3 months and considering the amount of time that has passed since the last post, I’m a LITTLE saddened that there isn’t more food pics to share, but hence why we are excited to be eating clean again!
